Ziggy was dumped at the Austin city pound because her owners say they have moved and don't have room for her. She's about 2 years old. Her family says she is friendly and good with other dogs. Ziggy has done nothing wrong and does not deserve the death sentence that she has received. She needs rescue committment by Tuesday 10-7-08.

I got a call from the SPCA in Wilkesbarre,PA.
On Sat. they got an Owner Surrender named Bailey.
She is 3 years old..."owner" got her from a Free to A Good Home Ad...but cannot keep her (grandchild is allergic.....)
Bailey is scared to DEATH at the shelter !!! Hence she is "growly in her kennel" when people approach her. The worker that Bailey's owner turned her over to, is "ok" in Bailey's eyes...so,she (Vicki) is able to get her out of her kennel and walk her (Bailey is HARD on leash).
Vicki says she understands that Bailey is scared, right now....she growls with her tail tucked up to her belly....BUT... they will not make Bailey "Available for Adoption"...she is a Rescue Only...
"Owner" said Bailey is good with kids...has been around other dogs,and is "dominant" with them (not aggressive, dominant.)...she has always been a "house dog",so is house trained. "owner" did NOT know if Bailey is spayed or not......sigh.
Does anyone recognize Bailey ??? Perhaps she was a "Rescue" that got "dumped" (Free to a Good Home)....
SPCA says "she won't make it,here"

Delia is 9mos old, spayed, up to date on shots, house & crate trained, she can sit and stay
really well. She is a very happy dog, not destructive, gets along with ther cats and dogs and loves kids. She loves to play fetch, and is really good at it. She is incredibly sweet and loving, and
loves to snuggle. Her owner will be taking her to the shelter Monday because she is moving & can't take her.

The owner said she is single works alot & is hardly home so she has boarded her for 2 weeks (she has 1 day left) in hopes that a new home can be found for Daria, otherwise she will take her back to the same shelter she adopted her from 3 months ago where they will Euth her.
Daria is 6yrs old and approx 60lbs, She is spayed, up to date on shots and heartworm negative.
Daria is good with children, likes other dogs and is good with cats (she has a cat). She loves to go for walks on her leash and absolutely loves to ride in the car. She loves people, loves to be petted and likes to play fetch.

Yager was in a temporary foster home but the foster parents decided to travel so poor sweet Yager is now in boarding. He is terrified & thinks he's back at the shelter. Yager needs an adopter or another foster home ASAP!
Yager is a gorgeous 7yr old Catahoula, he has one brown eye and one blue eye. He is so sweet and loving, the only thing he likes more then getting hugs is playing with his toys. He walks well on a leash, house trained, likes other dogs, kids and rides great in the car. He has lots of energy and will make you laugh for hours. Yager is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and microchipped. If you are interested in giving this sweet boy a loving home please email me.

HE IS IN A SHELTER THAT KILLS WITH HEARTSTICK 10/05 update.When this shelter holds a dog over it is because he is very special. This little boy is getting more urgent by the moment An URGENT case here folks- this guy has only a few days left. Just a young pup of perhaps about 6 months old. Very cuddly and eager to please. Rocky is a Catahoula bulldog, about 7 months old. He's a friendly, out-going young dog, but is too rambuctious and mouthy for small children. He does well with the kids that live in his house, but visiting children get him too excited. He is NOT aggressive, just enthusiastic. He's fine with other dogs that don't mind the rough and tumble Catahoula playstyle. Rocky is now in boarding (9-21-08) and needs a foster or adopter ASAP. He cannot stay in boarding long.

UPDATE: 9-29-08 Catahoula Rescue was in the process of making plans to rescue this nice girl when we learned that she is pregnant and in about a week. We had originally thought that she had just weaned a litter. The foster home that was going to take her is in PA, much too far for her to travel in her condition. It's alot to ask, but we desperately need someone to foster and whelp her puppies.
This pretty girl is in a kill shelter in northeast Texas. Apparently, she recently weaned a litter of puppies. The shelter ACO thinks she is 3-4 years old and says that she is very sweet. A number of our Houston area fosterhomes were affected by hurricane Ike and cannot take foster dogs at this time. We are desperate for new foster volunteers to help save some of our Texas Catahoulas.

Shep is a beautiful 3yr old, he is approx 50lbs. He is up to date on shots, microchipped, and neutered. He is heartworm positive and he can not start the hw treatment where he is because the lady is getting evicted so Shep must leave NOW! He needs a foster or adopter so he can start his heartworm treatment right away.
Shep is 3yrs old, beautiful blue eyes, LOVES children, walks excellent on a leash, rides well in the car, loves to give kisses and is very loving. He loves to play ball and will sit & stay on command. Her kids bathe him and he is so gentle. He likes other dogs but not cats. Shep is located in FL. We can not afford to board him & he needs to start hw treatment.

Somehow Uni has managed to remain in her shelter since MAY. She must be one heck of a special girl to get passed over for euthanasia that many times. Hi, my name is Houla Girl, I was found wandering the streets scared and hungry, looking for someone to love me. Now I am sitting in a boarding kennel very lonely just waiting for someone to take me home and show me how it feels to be safe & loved.
I am about 1 or 2 yrs old, house trained, 40lbs (they say I'm petite and small), I like other dogs, kids and I am very affectionate. I walk great on a leash and l ride really well in the car. I am sooooo loving I just wamt to sit in your lap & be petted but I also like to play fetch. I am short and small but I have lots of love to give, please take me home.

Currently in boarding but needs out asap as costs are mounting for those that found this boy. He has been neutered, fully vetted, HW negative. Vet says his vision and hearing appear to be completely normal. He did very well with the Cat and tried to give her a bath! He is very sweet and he be a great dog for someone.

Poor Cartouche was dumped in a boarding facility by his previous owners who abandoned him. He is approximately a 1 yr old, a lab Catahoula Mix and is described as sweet, but needs some training as he has been in boarding way too long. The owners of the boarding facility have been very patient but need this boy moved, or will turn him over to terrible place where is fate is quite uncertain.

**UPDATED 10/5/08** This pup has waited so long for help. The economy is really hurting dogs right now. She has been held a long time. When Indy arrived at the shelter on the 4th of July he was heartworm positive. Catahoula Rescue worked with the Humane Society of North Texas to get Indy treated and allow for the 6 week recovery period. Indy did great and is now ready to go to his forever home in Burlington, Ontario Canada. Transport is planned for Oct 3-5. The run sheet will be posted in a day or two. of Trinity Mills and George Bush Fwy.

We will begin going to PetCo on the 2nd Sunday and the 4th Saturday of every
month. So in November we will be there on Sunday the 11th and Saturday,
the 24th. Hours will be 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Whether you have a foster you want to bring or you are looking for your

A wonderful lady managed to coax sweet Honey to her one day, and was able to foster her and cure her of some ailments. She is now all healthy again, and no longer starving. All she needs now is a great FOREVER home! She loves to play with other dogs and likes to chill in her crate. She also has a penchant for stuffies.
